What is Aikido?
Aikido is a non-competitive Japanese martial art of self-defense. The name Aikido can be translated to "the way of harmony." Aikido techniques are based on blending with and redirecting the energy of an attack. This energy can then be used to disable, pin or throw an attacker. Because aikido relies on blending rather than brute force opposition, effective aikido technique doesn't require great strength. All of the techniques depend upon spherical motion, centripetal force and balance.

New members are always welcome, and first two classes are free. Whether you know nothing or everything about Aikido, you're welcome to practice with us. Our membership consists of students with varying degrees of rank and experience.
Free Classes
If you are not sure if Aikido is right for you, come and try a class or two to get a better idea of Aikido. Decide later if you would like to join! Wear comfortable clothes (sweat and a t-shirt will suit you fine.) If you are new to the art, it is better to start at the beginning of the semester when lots of other new student will be learning basics with you.
